Welcome To Our Happy Place!
Welcome to the 2026-2027 school year! I'm Ms. Curatola, and I am so excited for another amazing year at Dugan! This is my 15th year teaching, and I truly can't imagine doing anything else. I earned both my Bachelor's and Master's degrees from St. John's University in Childhood and Special Education. I am also trained in Orton-Gillingham multisensory literacy instruction through the Institute for Multi-Sensory Education (IMSE), which is an approach I love using to help students become stronger, more confident readers.
I am passionate about creating a classroom where every student feels safe, supported, successful, and celebrated. I believe that some of the best learning happens when we are laughing, making connections, taking chances, and realizing that mistakes are just part of growing! One of my favorite parts of teaching is helping students discover their strengths and watching their confidence grow—academically, socially, and emotionally. Our classroom is a place where everyone belongs, and we celebrate progress in ALL its forms.
When I’m not teaching, you can usually find me spending time with my daughter, Christina, and my Cavapoo, Capri! I love reading, going to the beach, listening to music, playing mahjong, chasing a good sunset, and drinking way too much coffee.
