Child Study Team
I am fortunate to have been working with the Marlboro Township Public School District since 2012 as a School Social Worker/Case Manager on the child study team. In this role, I have the pleasure of supporting students' academic and social/emotional learning. Collaboration and communication is the key when working with parents, staff, and administration to ensure student success.
A Child Study Team consists of three members that are specialists in the area of disabilities. Child Study Team members include: a School Social Worker, a Learning Disabilities Teacher/Consultant, and a School Psychologist. The Child Study Team is responsible for identification, evaluation and determination of eligibility for special education services, development and review of Individualized Education Programs (IEPs) and special education placement. The team can also include a Speech-Language Therapist, an Occupational Therapist, a Physical Therapist and other specialists as appropriate. The team collaborates with parents, teachers, and school administrators to provide free and appropriate educational services to eligible students with disabilities.
